HELP SAVE SHERMAN'S LEG -- Friday November 6th, 2009

To See Updated Pictures of Sherman's Leg - Please go to his Webpage - - - - Sherman went to A&M and had surgery on the 15th. However, it was worse than expected and in addition to the surgery he did have complications. I picked him up to come home on the 20th because I can give him 24 hour care more sufficiently. Because of the complications that developed while at A&M I have been driving him DAILY (1-1/2 hours) to Paws Veterinarians at Lake Olympia Animal Hospital in Missouri City for treatment and bandage changes. He is now doing much better but the treatments and bandage changes will be weekly and are due to the complications while at A&M. We still have him on daily pain medication to make sure he stays comfortable. I am very devoted in seeing this through and although he is a little depressed from having to stay caged (because he cannot be allowed to jump or run right now) his personality has not changed and is still the sweeeeetest little boy you could ever meet! He will hopefully be able to have his bandage off in January and will have to be monitored for a few weeks in order to keep from re-injuring his arm until it has completely healed. Only x-rays will tell us at that point if it has healed. His medical bills will continue until that time. I truly want to thank everyone who has donated and continues to donate for his medical. This little boy will grab your heart if and when you meet him. 9/6/2009: I am fostering a cat named Sherman for Paws Animal Rescue, Inc. who was found after being hit by a car. All his other injuries have healed except for a “Luxating Carpus”. Sherman is using the leg but he limps. We have to correct the problem or it will get worse and worse. I just cannot see amputating his leg because the corrective surgery is too expensive so I need to raise funds to save Sherman's leg. Paws is a small 501c3 (All Volunteer) Animal Rescue Organization and they do not have the funds for the expensive surgery required to help him. Texas A&M Veterinary Orthopedics said they can fix his leg but the cost would be somewhere $3000-$3500. Sherman’s Web Page is http://www.pawsrescue.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=1730013 . You can donate on line at “Donation Information” or with the "Sponsor Me" link and put Sherman's name in the notes section. Or you can send a check to Paws, P.O. Box 816, Alvin, TX 77512. You donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible.
